A small, friendly little shop doing baguettes and paninis for around 3-4 pounds. There's a good selection of filling options, some very tasty sauces, and vegetarians are particularly well catered for. Getting a panini is not especially quick as everything's made to order but unless you're in a desperate rush it's definitely worth coming round the corner to Fresh rather than getting a pre-packed sandwich.
There's also a little range of very sweet (in the sugary sense) homemade flapjacks and cakes- very tasty, and an instant sugar high! -

This small, friendly sandwich shop near the Hayes end of Royal arcade is a really popular lunchtime spot, with queues often snaking out of the door during peak times. Later in the afternoon - once the lunch hour rush is over - it's often completely quiet and you can get a bite to eat without having to wait any time at all.
Both their baguettes and their healthy salads are fresh and good quality, and hardly cost much more than you'd pay for pre-packaged lesser equivalents at Boots or the supermarkets. They also go jacket potatoes and soups if you want something hot - and what's more, the owners (or staff) are really friendly. -

I've often walked past Fresh and seen big queues from the office types clogging up the arcade.
Recently it was and empty and my matey chum and I were hungry, a decent motivation to visit it if ever there was one.
The extent of their menu is incredibly wide in range, baguette wise that is. The fantastically friendly woman spoke to us for a good while about the menu and what she'd personally recommend. I got a cajun chicken with cheese and coleslaw. It sounded a bit made to me but oh how wrong I was. It easily is in my top three sandwiches I've ever had. It says alot about me when I have a top 5 sandwich list doesn't it?
Prices were fine, about £3.50. The combination of the great service and great sandwich really does make me want this to become my local lunch hangout. -

As I'm writing this review, my friend is peering over my shoulder to see what I'm up to.
Friend: 'Oh! That place does amazing baguettes!'
I guess that says it all really, but I might just go on to say a little more. Neatly snuggled in the superb confines of the Royal Arcade, Fresh is an extremely popular sandwich bar. You know the one, it's the place where everyone stands around at lunchtime.
Although I, unlike Jamie, do not have a top 5 list of sandwiches, the baguette that filled my tummy this afternoon was certainly scrummy. I asked for the softest bread and filling possible because of a dodgy tooth (please note the last place I reviewed was my lovely dentist), and the nice lady went through and found the softest possible baguette and chopped those nasty hard ends off for me.
4 stars for great food and sympathy. -

The name says it all for this sandwich shop. Fresh! Be prepared to get some excellent tasty food. Located in Royal Arcade, there is a choice of baguettes, panini's and sandwiches. As if that wasn't enough you can even pick out a nice dessert and drink to complete your lunchtime meal. Fresh delivers excellent quality of food along with great service from the couple that own it.
Like I said, you have a variety of choice but I usually go for a baguette. It fits the title of the shop perfectly! You can seriously taste the freshness of everything they make right before your eyes. Prices are definitely worth paying for lunch, depending on what you get you can pay from £3 to £5, which to me is a bargain! My word of warning would be to possibly try and get your baguette before the queue forms at lunchtime. This is only a very (and I mean very) small place where only 3 people can fit in at a time and I wish I were joking. I only wish it would branch out into a bigger space! But despite that, queuing is always 100% worth it.
Fresh are a very tasty and indeed a popular sandwich shop that keeps brining in those people at lunchtime. There are some seats outside the shop if you fancy a sit down. So treat yourself and go fresh!
